Jordan Taylor’s short fiction has appeared in magazines including Uncanny, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Fireside, The Deadlands, On Spec, and LCRW. Her work had been nominated for the World Fantasy Award for Best Short Fiction and long-listed for the Locus Awards and Best Horror #14.
Jordan received a BA in Creative Writing from North Carolina State University. The summer after graduation, she sold her first story – a modern fairy tale told in Southern dialect – to Shimmer Magazine. Jordan has since lived in several major cities on both US coasts, but currently resides in a little cottage in Seattle packed with too many books.
Jordan’s stories are lyrical and character-focused with a feminist streak – often centered around female relationships and complicated characters. She is currently querying her first novel – a gothic tale of Victorian-era magic and rebellion – and, when not writing, working as a librarian and teacher, painting the walls of her house in bright colors, gardening with her dog, or collecting books.
