The Deadlands recently launched their Year 3 Kickstarter, running all this month through Halloween.
The Deadlands is a speculative fiction magazine run by Elise Catherine Tobler, formerly of Shimmer. The Deadlands publishes “short stories, poems, and essays about the other realms, of the ends we face here, and the beginnings we find elsewhere.” Last year they published my story “What Remains to Wake” in Issue 5.
As part of their Kickstarter, they are offering story and poetry critiques from former Deadlands authors at the $25 reward tier. These critiques are restricted to marginalized authors or those who have not yet been published at the pro level. If you support at this tier, you can be matched with me, or with another amazing writer like Marissa Lingen, Premee Mohamed, KT Bryski, or Phoenix Alexander.
I really admire the staff’s commitment to keeping these critiques affordable for everyone. I hope you’ll support the magazine – and I’d be super excited to read your work!
